Milánosz (CZ, SK)

The acapella music band MILÁNOSZ was founded in 2010 and since then several singers have taken turns in it. The impetus for the formation of this band got singers thanks to the work with the Ukrainian ethnomusicologist and singer Jurij Pastuszenko, who still collects folk songs in the Ukrainian countryside. Pastuszenko regularly visits the band, selects the most beautiful Ukrainian folk songs and teaches the singers to interpret the music as folk singers still do in the given area. In addition to Ukrainian folklore music, the band sings Belarusian, Russian, Polish, Slovak and Balkan songs. "...Milánosz is currently dedicated to the authentic interpretation of Ukrainian folk songs; under the guidance of experienced ethnomusicologists and collectors of folk songs performs throughout the whole Czech Republic and can be said without exaggeration that it is the best performance of Ukrainian folk songs in our country.” (R.
