CONCEPT

Kavč festival is an incubator of new projects, a catalyst of culture that enriches a wide variety of spaces, cities, and social groups with art. It offers a place to confront different genres and a time for informal gatherings of artists. Kavč festival is a project that erases the fourth wall and places art where it belongs. In our homes.

Because of its specificity and attractiveness, Kavč Festival attracts more and more performers and hosts every year.

The official organizers of subcultural Kavč festival 2023 are:
KD Matita, MCLU Koper, KUD Plavajoči grad.

The unofficial organizers are all the hosts and event attendees.

ENGAGEMENT AND KAVČ FESTIVAL MISSION

The Kavč festival concept has already spread to other countries (Spain, Germany) as it is based on self-organization. We want to give a voice to this subcultural platform which creates an opposition to the established cultural industry. We strive for a society that dares to host and organize art at home. So that we dare to step out of our safety zones and meet the artists face-to-face. So that art and social engagement become part of everyday life. Ultimately, every event is co-created by everyone present, something we have probably forgotten in the time of institutionalized culture.
