Paganini Caravan (IT)
Combining musical influences from around the world, The Paganini Caravan is an eclectic band based in Rome (Italy) which claims 'gutter-jazz', world music, songwriting, ragtime, cabaret, vaudeville, blending the old with the new in all its music. The band was founded in 2023 by the songwriter Mr Paganini from the experience of an independent collective of artists and musicians. The powerful raspy voice of Mr Paganini, the honky-tonk tone of the gritty piano and trumpet or trombone, the energy of their performances, the carnival and 1930s-era-cabaret mood of the shows, all together forming a keenly individual musical universe. The project injects blues and early jazz into an underground mood to forge a distinctive urban sound. The band's material lends itself perfectly to a live setting, featuring a great deal of sing-along chorus chants, melodic improvisation and long rhythmic breaks.
