Dunja Knebl & Roko Margeta (HR)

Dunja Knebl & Roko Margeta are an unusual duo performing and recording since 2018. Their music is often labeled as "fairytale folk" and this is true both in respect to their choice of traditional folk songs coming from Croatia and the world, their style, and the wide array of instruments they use (guitar, Indian harmonium, sansula, kalimba, various (exotic) flutes, tapan, ukulele, tar, swarmandal, frame drum, small percussion, toy piano). Their two albums (Svilarica svilu prede, Songbook Songs) landed in various world music charts both in Croatia and elsewhere, and they have just recorded their third album entitled Fauna consisting of traditional songs from Croatia. Each song is about a different animal, resembling fairy tales where the animals are often complaining about their loneliness or the way they are treated by humans.
